New Designs/Cart Features Coming Soon… [ August 18th, 2008 ] Posted in » Words and Then Some... by James

The holiday season is fast upon us and our visit to the CGTA trade show was very fruitful. We saw great new products that will definitely be available in our Christmas 2008 designs. We also try to make the user experience as easy as possible. A couple of months ago we added delivery time estimates to our existing real-time rate quotes from FedEx. This allowed visitors to see not only the cost of shipping but the estimated transit times as well.

We’re hoping soon to implement a ShipEstimator feature to our cart so that you will be able to see the cost of shipping on the shopping cart rather than after you log into your account or create an account.  Other great ideas are planned…but those will have to wait for another day.

Doing our Part for the Environment… Part 2

Another high priority for us is to use Canadian suppliers as often as possible. This significantly decreases transportation time, fuel consumption, harmful emissions and other destructive effects to our environment. Not to mention the amount of paperwork that is prevented by not having to deal with Customs!

We try to use suppliers and manufacturing companies that are as local as possible.  Some of our favourite Canadian products/suppliers include the entire range of Gourmet du Village products from Morin Heights, QC; several products from Epicurean Foods line out of Kitchener, ON; anDea Chocolate located in Ancaster, ON; Niagara Presents wine jellies & preserves located in Beamsville, ON; Sable & Rosenfeld condiments from Toronto, ON; Canada True teas from Markham, ON; Cherrington Farms pancake mix, syrups, cookies and crackers from Mississagua, ON; Brockmann’s truffles from Richmond, BC; Uncle George’s pita chips from Weston, ON and many more too numerous to mention!
